Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
We believe access to opportunity should be based on ability, potential and aspiration, not background. That belief shapes how we work with candidates, how we advise our clients and how we treat each other.
Across Macildowie Group, including Macildowie and Signet, we treat everyone fairly and without discrimination, in line with the Equality Act 2010. That includes on the grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation.
Fair and inclusive recruitment
As recruiters, we have a real opportunity to widen access to good careers. We:
- review job adverts for inclusive language and accessibility
- focus on skills and capability, using clear, competency-based role requirements
- use structured interviews to assess candidates fairly
- advise our clients on inclusive job design and attracting a diverse range of candidates
- promote opportunities through diverse professional networks and education partners
Accessibility
We want our recruitment process to be accessible to everyone. If you need any adjustments at any stage, just let your consultant know and we'll make sure they're in place.
Our people
Every member of our team completes Equality, Diversity and Inclusion training each year, alongside training on creating a respectful workplace. We make reasonable adjustments for colleagues who need them, and we use workforce and recruitment data to keep improving how inclusive we are.
Social mobility and our community
We're committed to helping more people access career opportunities. We:
- work with schools, colleges and universities in the communities where we operate
- deliver CV workshops, employability sessions and presentations
- support early careers, including work experience and T-Level placements where opportunities arise
- bring professionals together through Macildowie Connect to share insight and support career development
Our colleagues also have four days a year to support community projects and education outreach.
Raising a concern
We don't tolerate discrimination, harassment, bullying or victimisation. If you're a candidate, client or colleague and something doesn't feel right, please speak to your Macildowie or Signet contact and we'll take it seriously.
