At Signet, our candidates are the lifeblood of our business, and we value each and every one of you. We collect and process your personal data to assist you in finding work.

Legal Basis for Processing

Consent and Legitimate Interest

If you apply for a job, processing is based on your consent. We have a legitimate interest in sharing your data with clients to find work for you.

Legitimate Interest

If you upload your CV to a job board, we may access it and share with clients. This is a legitimate interest of both Signet and our clients. We also share your data with our group company, Macildowie, under legitimate interest.

Right to Work Data

We may need proof of your right to work in the UK (e.g. passport or birth certificate). This data may include information considered “Special Category” under GDPR. It is used only to fulfil legal obligations and securely stored. Occasionally, it may be shared with a client or third party as required.

Medical Data

If you share medical data (e.g. for interview arrangements), we treat this as consent to process it. We will not share this data with third parties unless you explicitly ask us to.

Criminal Record Data

Some roles require DBS checks, which may include criminal record data. Processing is based on your consent. We pass your email to our DBS provider, receive a secure report, and share it with the hiring organisation. Contact us if you do not wish to proceed with such processing.

Job Notifications

We may contact you about other suitable jobs under our legitimate interests. You may unsubscribe or opt out at any time.

We do not use automated decision-making.

  • Candidate data: 6 years after placement, with periodic opt-in checks
  • Deletion and subject access request logs: retained 1 year
