Well today is Signet’s 10 year anniversary. I am so proud of what we have achieved. I can honestly say I didn’t really have a perception of what the business would look like 10 years down the line. Recruitment has changed so much since I started out in 1987. My vision for Signet was to bridge the gap between a traditional high street agency and a search and selection consultancy. Have we achieved this? I would say absolutely.
I have been fortunate to have a superb business partner in Vanessa. We are both so committed to the business and our team and they often comment on our united approach. I laugh and say we would pass the “Mr and Mrs Show” with flying colours. Business partnerships aren’t always, from my experience, smooth. However, whilst we might disagree occasionally we make a superb team, have enormous respect for each other, play to our strengths and fundamentally we both have high integrity.
We have a great team and genuinely like and care for our people. Jane, our senior business manager, has been with us for 6 years. She has made an incredible contribution to Signet and has worked tirelessly to push Signet’s brand and ensure that us oldies are firmly in touch with today’s technology. She has challenged me to take on new markets and my “old fashioned” Generation X views.
I can’t name everyone individually but we have a talented team who are professional and share our passion for the Signet model.
We work with some fabulous clients and candidates who really value what we do and we get some great feedback. We’re not perfect but we strive to give excellent service and I’m aware that reputation is everything.
